A. C.'s Story

Life Updated-Oct, 2006 After high school, I was drafted into the army (1968-1970). While in the army I was stationed in the only other combat zone at the time. The DMZ in Korea. After the army I drifted around for a while. I met my wife to be, while working for the Post Office. She graduated from Pace. We were married in "73" and had two daughters. We were divorced in 1980. I have remained single. I found my way into the electrical trade. I worked my way from an apprentice to owner. I sold out to my partner in 1999. I lived in Dade county until 1988, then moved up to Davie in Broward. I-75, and 595 were not finished and Flamingo Road was still 2 lane. When I left in 1999 to move to Ocala, Fla. Flamingo was 6 lanes and it was bumper to bumper on 595. All in just 11 years. I have 3 grandchildren. Two boys and a girl. Fortunately for me, they are here in Ocala with my oldest daughter. I'm still waiting on my youngest to have children. When she does, I am not looking forward to the trips into Miami. When I moved here, the intention was to semi retire. Well mother nature had other plans for me. I have had two spinal surgeries, and I need a third. I found out I was exposed to Agent Orange while in Korea, and I have been come down with a couple of manageable medical conditions. Needless to say, I am not as active as I would like to be. The good news is. I am still relative healthy and I am keeping myself busy. The bad news, to t...Expand for more
hose of you who read this and may not of heard. Danny Blystone and I remained very close all these years. He and his wife Terry (not Terri) moved here in June of 2004 and lived with me for 6 months, while they were waiting for their house to be finished, just 6 blocks from here. In June 2005, Danny died. Just a day and a half after I had my second back surgery. Terry called me about 2:30 in the morning from here in Ocala to Gainesville, where I had my surgery. I was too drugged to comprehend what she was telling me. To those of you that knew us well. We were still like kids, dispite being middle age men. When we were together you would think we were still in high school. I miss him very much. Since my last update.Terry has joined Danny. She passed away 9/06. I have about 10 of you in my address book, who I keep in touch with by e-mail and occasionally by phone. Although with Danny Duff living in Canada, I don't speak to him as often as I would like. I had two friends from Southwest High spend the night recently. I look forward to hearing from old friends. I am listed in the Ocala telephone directory. I pay a flat rate for my phone, so I can call you back. No more long distance rates. Thank God for cable. Remember we have more days behind us than we do in front of us. If by chance, if a certain person should read this. I am compelled to say "Hi" S.L. May we all be granted good health for whatever the future brings us. A. C.
